Central Office and Equipment (COE) Technician
The COE Technician is responsible for maintaining a highly reliable network of systems including the Central Office Switch, carrier and transmission devices and all other auxiliary equipment. Specific equipment includes MetaSwitch & Genband M6 switches, DWDM transport equipment and Calix and Pannaway access equipment. Candidate must be capable of performing additions, removals and modifications on working equipment and circuits. The COE Technician also performs circuit trouble diagnosis and corrections as well as reading, interpreting and correcting wiring and circuit layout records. Monitoring alarm reports, clearing troubles, adding/removing circuits on working power distribution sources as well as equipment turn-up and testing are required duties of the job. Other duties would include but are not limited to operating various fiber optic, alarm and test equipment systems. Technician must be familiar with all aspects of central office installation procedures and practices.
